Milis Linux

Türkiye’s Independent and Original Operating System

Milis Linux (National Operating System) was launched in 2016 as a community-driven initiative to breathe new life into the domestic software ecosystem and reduce external dependencies in information technologies.

The project gained academic depth through the Akdeniz University BAP Project support between 2019-2020 and continues its journey today with a stable and dynamic development process.

Far from being just another distribution, Milis Linux utilizes the "Linux From Scratch" (LFS) technique to achieve true originality. Accordingly, it features its own package management system (Milis Package System - MPS) and a suite of original native applications.

Built on the principles of open-source and collaborative innovation, the Milis Linux Project aims to contribute to the global software ecosystem while driving technological advancement and digital sovereignty.
